La signora Tabea ricorda solo i sogni e dice che si sentiva inquieta. Trovava che questa fosse una sensazione molto sgradevole.

P1: Sì, in realtà è... non riesco più a ricordare. Ho solo sognato.
E per me è sempre stata un'inquietudine e non necessariamente esperienze così belle. Quindi... ma solo, voglio dire, non l'ho sperimentato consapevolmente.
I1: Puoi anche a raccontare i sogni, perché per te quella è la tua esperienza.
P1: Sì. È che sono sempre così irrequieta, sempre in posti diversi. Quindi ho sperimentato tutto. Quindi: fuori, dentro e... in realtà raramente nello stesso posto. E sempre... Io sono una persona molto attiva e mi sdraiavo e poi sognavo che non riuscivo ad addormentarmi, non riuscivo a dormire bene. E semplicemente irrequieta. Non è facile - sì, è solo... è stata un po' una tortura per me.

Frau Tabea erinnert sich nur an Träume und sagt, dass sie sich unruhig fühlte. Das empfand sie als ein sehr unangenehmes Gefühl.

P1: Ja es sind eigentlich… richtig erinnern kann ich mich eigentlich nicht mehr. Ich habe nur geträumt.
Und für mich war das immer eine Unruhe und einfach nicht unbedingt so gute Erfahrungen. Also… aber eben, ich meine, ich habe das nicht bewusst miterlebt.
I1: Sie dürfen auch gerne von den Träumen erzählen, weil für Sie ist ja das Ihres Erleben.
P1:  Ja. Mir ist das halt einfach immer so Unruhe gewissen immer an verschiedenen Orten. Also alles habe ich erlebt. Also: Draussen, drin und… eigentlich selten am gleichen Ort. Und immer… ich bin jemand, der sehr aktiv ist und ich lag immer und dann träumte ich, dass ich nicht einschlafen konnte, nicht gut schlafen. Und einfach Unruhig einfach. Nicht einfach – ja, es ist halt… für mich schon ein wenig eine Qual gewesen.

Mme Tabea ne se souvient que de rêves et dit qu'elle se sentait agitée. Elle a trouvé que c'était un sentiment très désagréable.

P1 : Oui, c'est en fait... Je ne me souviens plus vraiment. J'ai seulement rêvé.
Et pour moi, c'était toujours une inquiétude et pas nécessairement de bonnes expériences. Donc... mais juste, je veux dire, je ne l'ai pas vécu consciemment.
I1 : Vous pouvez aussi parler de vos rêves, car pour vous, c'est un vécu.
P1 : Oui. C'est juste que je suis toujours si perturbée, toujours dans des endroits différents. J'ai donc tout connu. Donc : dehors, dedans et... en fait rarement au même endroit. Et toujours... Je suis quelqu'un de très active et j'avais l'habitude de me coucher et de rêver que je ne pouvais pas m'endormir, que je ne pouvais pas bien dormir. Et tout simplement fébrile. Pas facile - oui, c'est vraiment... ça a été un peu une torture pour moi.

P1: Yes, it's actually... I can't really remember anymore. I have only dreamed.
And for me it was always a restlessness and just not necessarily such good experiences. So... but just, I mean, I didn't consciously experience that.
I1: You are also welcome to tell about the dreams, because for you that is your experience.
P1: Yes. To me it's just always so restlessness, always in different places. So I have experienced everything. So: outside, inside and... actually rarely in the same place. And always... I am someone who is very active and I always lay and then I dreamed that I could not fall asleep, not sleep well. And just restless just. Not easy - yeah, it's just... for me it's been a bit of a pain.

Our interviewees often have to deal with memory gaps. Their descriptions are a mixture of what they experienced themselves,what is added afterwards by relatives or team members, or feelings/emotions to which they give words afterwards. Regardless of these limitations, it is important to note that these memories represent real experiences for the patient.

Forgetting: remembering with the help of other people.

With the technical and medical possibilities on intensive care a patient can be able to survive life-threatening illnesses. These experiences of critical illness and intensive care medicine are challenging for patients and families. Often experiences made on intensive care unit (ICU) can be life changing.
In small video- or audio-sequences we would like to illustrate the experiences made by patients on ICU and how they handled their stay in this critical situation.
Many patients share their experiences on intensive care unit and show how these experiences influenced their life.
