Nadja W. was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2000 and has been living with the disease for twenty years at the time of the interview. She was no longer working as a service worker at the time of diagnosis. In 2015, she received the Duodopa® pump, which was five years ago at the time of the interview. Nadja W. struggles with sudden changes in mood and then withdraws. Nevertheless, she tries to think positively and has devoted more time to new activities, such as knitting, since the onset of Parkinson's disease. Interviewer: And what symptoms of Parkinson's do you have? Or did you have at the beginning? Nadja W.: Blockages from the body, which no longer wanted the way I wanted. The body didn't react the way I wanted. [...] I had falls. Interviewer: And does that still happen? Do you still have blockages? Nadja W.: Yes, I have blockades every day. Interviewer: And is it worse than before or better? Nadja W.: It is still the same.
