TEXT

Driving was always very important to her sister

Ms. Marti reports that her sister lost her driving licence during a police check. Even though her sister, a trained car mechanic, always cared about the car, she now also sees how much stress driving caused her.

TRANSCRIPT

E: She then lost her driving licence. That happened too. She was somehow driving at a roundabout just before home, where it would have been 50, but drove more like 60, and she had to hand in her licence. My sister is heavily tattooed and has long, blue hair and so on and that stands out when you drive past a police car (laughing), too fast. And so she's a classic victim. Totally fits in with this (laughter) I: And that was after the event, wasn't it? E: Yes, yes. I: But so she can drive again? E: In theory she could, yes. But she's just not allowed to now because she doesn't have her driving licence. But otherwise she should be able to. So as a car mechanic, that's also pretty important. That was a big thing for her. And then. But I think it also relaxed her, because driving is always stressful for her.

When the desire to go home is stronger....

The stronger the desire to return home, the lower the willingness to undergo therapy. The reasons for wanting to go home are complex. Often, patients simply want to go back to their old habits.
