TEXT

Ms. Marti had herself examined for her disposition

Both her sister and her mother suffered from brain damage. The indication that she too might have an increased risk of a cerebral vascular condition caused her great concern. She decided to undergo a medical examination.

TRANSCRIPT

And the professor [who treated her sister]? Fortunately, I can't remember the names (laughs). He just casually said that it would be good if my mum and I had a check-up too. And that stuck because it was a double pack: my sister now had this aneurysm. Then my mum, who had this stroke when she was 51, and for a long time, it was in the back of my mind and I wish I hadn't been so scared. But it kept coming up anyway, whether I might also have an aneurysm and I carried it with me for weeks. And then I spoke to various people, Chinese doctors and conventional doctors, and everyone said something different. But then I decided to check it out and had an MRI [magnetic resonance imaging - medical radiological imaging examination] to see if I had an aneurysm. And it turned out that there wasn't one. And that was still a bit reassuring.
