In order to visit her partner, Ms Lena L. had to wait outside the intensive care unit for a long time. This caused her anxiety and insecurity.

Non so ancora cosa sia successo lì. Non so se lui / lui è scopo / esattamente. Una volta è caduto dal letto nella prima unità di terapia intensiva. Questo è quello che ci hanno detto allora. Non so se non è caduto dal letto anche lì o se c'era qualcosa con la padella della sedia o qualcosa / qualcosa che hanno dovuto lavorare molto duramente. 
Sì, e una volta davvero / non poteva più respirare. Anche questo era nel reparto di terapia intensiva. Non ricordo nemmeno come sia successo. Ehm, sì, è stato comunque brutto. Ma avevo la sensazione che l'infermiera avesse tutto sotto controllo al 100%. Ha poi lavorato con lui per farlo respirare di nuovo.

La signora Lena L. ha sofferto per i lunghi tempi di attesa e l'incertezza.

Je ne savais pas ce qui se passait derrière la porte de l'unité de soins intensifs. Vous devez toujours vous enregistrer. Je me suis enregistrée. Ils ont dit qu'il était juste immobile / qu'il y avait eu un incident. Je pense que j'ai attendu pendant environ 1 heure et demie devant cette porte. Oui. Là, j'étais un peu inquiète. Je ne sais toujours pas ce qui s'est passé là-bas.Je ne sais pas s'il est / si c'est le cas / exactement.  Il est tombé du lit une fois dans la première unité de soins intensifs. C'est ce qu'ils nous ont dit à l'époque. Je ne sais pas s'il n'est pas tombé du lit là aussi ou si quelque chose s'est passé avec le plateau de la chaise ou quelque chose / il y avait quelque chose qu'ils devaient travailler très dur. 
Oui, et une fois qu'il a vraiment / il ne pouvait plus respirer. C'était aussi dans l'unité de soins intensifs. Je ne me souviens même pas comment c'est arrivé. Hum, oui, c'était encore mauvais. Mais j'avais l'impression que l'infirmièr avait tout sous contrôle. Il a ensuite travaillé avec lui pour qu'il respire à nouveau.

Einmal in dieser Intensivstation / ich glaube, das war auch als ich das erste Mal dort war, ich weiss es auch nicht. Nein, wenn ich etwas gesehen habe, war das für mich einfach. Ich habe dort nicht gewusst, was hinter der Türe auf der Intensiv abgeht. Man muss sich ja immer anmelden. Ich habe mich angemeldet. Sie haben gesagt, er sei gerade noch / es habe gerade noch irgend einen Zwischenfall gegeben. Ich glaube, ich habe dann etwa 1 1/2 Stunden vor dieser Türe gewartet. Ja. Dort habe ich mir ein bisschen Sorgen gemacht. Ich weiss bis heute nicht, was dort gewesen ist. Ich weiss nicht, ob er / er ist zweck / genau. Er ist auf der ersten Intensivabteilung einmal aus dem Bett gefallen. Das haben sie uns dann gesagt. Ich weiss nicht, ob er nicht auch dort aus dem Bett gefallen ist oder ob etwas mit der Stuhlpfanne oder irgendetwas / irgendetwas war dort, dass sie ganz fest arbeiten mussten. 
Ja. Und einmal da hat er wirklich / da hat er keine Luft mehr bekommen. Das war auch in der Intensivstation. Ich weiss gar nicht mehr, wie das passiert ist. Ähm, ja, das war noch schlimm. Aber ich hatte das Gefühl, dass der Pfleger das 100% im Griff hat. Er hat mit ihm dann zusammen geschaut, dass er wieder zu Luft kommt.

One team member must head communication

Patients want to interact with the team. They want to be respected. If patients can't respond, it doesn't mean they don't understand or don't want to be explained. The care relationship benefits from words, explanations of what the nurse is doing, and multi-sensory listening, even when the patient does not seem to be aware or able to process detailed information.
