Theo I. was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 42. Together with Salome G.-I., he has two small children at this time. I have to say that I am lucky to have a very slow progression. I was able to live for about another ten years without medication. Towards the end I lived with some limitations, but they were not massive. There were situations where I had massive holes, but they were very rare. Overall, I was able to live a relatively long time without medication. [...] That was always a yardstick for me. Can I still snowboard or not? That was for me the measure of the progress of the disease. I could actually / until the end I was able to do that to some extent. But now [after deep brain stimulation] it's better again.
