Quindi mi sentivo a mio agio nel senso che sapevo che era in buone mani. Ho sempre avuto una buona sensazione. Sapevo che era un grande ospedale. Che aveva le cure, che erano lì 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7. Non ero preoccupata che gli mancasse qualcosa, che non fosse... . Si trattava più che altro di prendersi cura di me come membro della famiglia in questa difficile situazione.

Je me sentais donc à l'aise dans le sens où je savais qu'il était entre de bonnes mains. J'ai toujours eu un bon pressentiment. Je savais que c'était un grand hôpital. Qu'il avait les soins, qu'ils étaient là 24h/24 et 7j/7. Je n'étais pas inquiet qu'il manque quelque chose, qu'il ne manque rien. Il s'agissait plutôt de prendre soin de moi en tant que membre de la famille dans cette situation difficile.

Mme Yvonne Y. aurait aimé avoir plus de soutien.

Frau Yvonne Y., Tochter, hatte zwar Vertrauen in die Pflege ihres Vaters, hätte sich aber mehr Unterstützung und Beistand für sich selbst gewünscht.

Also ich habe mich wohl gefühlt in dem Sinne, dass ich wusste, er ist gut aufgehoben. Da hatte ich immer ein gutes Gefühl. Ich wusste, dass es ein super Spital ist. Dass er die Pflege hatte, dass sie rund um die Uhr dort waren. Ich machte mir keine Sorgen, dass ihm etwas fehlen würde, das nicht. Es ging mehr darum, mich als Angehörige in dieser schwierigen Situation zu betreuen.

Frau Yvonne Y. hätte sich mehr Beistand gewünscht.

So I felt comfortable in the sense that I knew he was in good hands. I always had a good feeling there. I knew that it was a super hospital. That he had the care, that they were there 24/7. I wasn't worried that he was missing anything, that he wasn't. It was more about taking care of me as a family member in this difficult situation.

Relatives can feel lost and often do not understand how ICU procedures work. Some reported a positive feeling and confidence that their loved one was being well cared for. However, most relatives said they would have liked more support during the difficult time.

So I felt helpless from the time he [the father] told me things that were not true, that were not true. I didn't know how to deal with it. I had never faced a situation like that before. And I have to say quite honestly, they just told me in the hospital that it was delirium. And that's really all it was. There is a brochure about it in the hospital. I read it, but it didn't really help me. I tried to deal with it to the best of my ability. I was told that it had to be done with familiar people again, so to speak,
