Consistency in information

Mr. Clau C., a love one, explains the variable quality of information, depending on whether it comes from the doctor or nursing staff.

TRANSCRIPT

E1: Yes. Yes. No, I have to say that. From the medical team, they've already spoken to me. I have to say that. They explained everything to me. The nursing staff, the first two or three months, when she came round again afterwards, when I came, one of the ward staff came and said, Mr XX, just a moment. I'll be with you in a minute. She explained to me what had happened during the night, from the time I left in the evening until the next day. I thought that was great. I : Mhm. E1: The longer she was there, the less it became. In the end, I always had to beg them to give me any information at all about what happened during the night. I called in the morning and asked how it had gone. Yes, good and all. But every time I came, the first few months, they came to me on their own initiative and gave me really great information. I have to be honest. After that, it was gone. It was over! Nothing more! Zero. Of course that's not satisfactory. I : No. That's right. E1: I had to ask every time, how did it go? What is it? What does it look like? Is something going on? Because many times she had this or that or that or with the dialysis, what was going on or something. I had to pull all that out of their noses. Nobody came forward of their own accord. I thought that was bad. I thought that was really bad. I : Where did you get your medical information from? Did you get it from the team and the doctors or from the internet? E1: I didn't have the internet or anything. The only thing I had was a doctor. I don't even remember her name. She was very good. She sometimes took me into the office separately and talked to me about how, what and where. I thought that was very good. But there was nothing more from the nursing staff. There was nothing. And that, yes.
